is a person who hurts others on purpose (even if it’s just hurting their feelings), but a HERO is a person who HELPS others! So choose to be a HERO by HELPING instead of a bully by hurting.” Or in simpler terms, “Heroes help. Bullies hurt. Be a Hero!”

Hundreds of elementary schools are currently playing these stories on the school intercom twice a week during morning announcements as a part of their bully prevention efforts.  Be sure to see what many of them are saying by clicking here!  (These stories are available in video or audio-only formats to best suit your needs.)

In each segment a “would-be” bully is discovered by a teacher, counselor, principal, parent, or even by a peer and corrected using the academic language this program produces.  In most cases, he or she begins to understand the better way and starts pursuing it.  All of the examples, while fictional, are based on real life occurrences.   And just like The Beginning of a Hero, each story ends with the words, “That’s what I know about the beginning of this hero, and I know that you can become a hero, too.
