A friend of mine recently made a rather profound statement. He said, “Bad decisions limit your options.”
For example, he said if you decide to spend more money than you can afford, you limit your option of having credit, don’t you? Or, if you decide to disregard traffic laws, you could limit your option to continue driving.
Unwanted pregnancy will limit a number of options, and the contracting of a sexually transmitted disease could limit your option to continue living! You might say that those are accidents not decisions, but they in fact are decisions when we decide to take the risk.
Deciding to just sit around and take it easy on the job will limit your option of having a job, and the decision to accept mediocrity in school, at work, or with relationships will limit your option to be happy and successful.
Yes, bad decisions certainly do limit your options!
