The Jimmy Carter Story

Not long ago, I was in a supermarket listening to a very unhappy store employee who was being paid at the moment for checking my groceries. She spent the few minutes we were together angrily telling me, the customer, all about her paycheck which apparently didn’t even come close to covering the money she needed.

It would seem that one can seldom make it through an entire day without hearing remarks from workers about things that don’t go just to their suiting.

Certainly every situation will not be without some negative. But nothing good is ever accomplished by discussing your problems with people who can’t help you. And often, when we do our “third party venting,” we lose a notch or two on the respectability scale.

It works out much better to take positive action and logically talk out problems or misunderstandings with the people who can help.
