The Jimmy Carter Story

I can remember, as a teen, being obsessed about a number of things—like motorcycles. At fifteen, I told people around me everything they wanted to know about motorcycles, and a lot they didn’t!

So, is talking about things that interest you a bad thing to do? Of course not!

But just think about people you know who talk about their interests and about their friends as though everyone around them has the same interests and the same friends!

And think about the people who embarrass others (and themselves) by openly discussing private matters! People who talk incessantly about their own special interests seem to consider themselves the center of the world around them.

But they’re not — none of us is.

And the sooner we each can realize that we are only a very small part of a very big picture, the sooner we can truly grow in our lives.
