The Thomas Edison Story

I recently overheard a man discussing his new job—one that he was really excited about! But as the story unfolded, I was disappointed. In fact, I felt really sorry for him as he continued to explain to his friend that his new “gravy job,” as he called it, required only that he sit and push a button all day!

That true-life scenario brought to mind something I had heard before. It’s a clever way of categorizing each of us. Listen closely and see where you fit in this short list:

First, there are those people who make good things happen! Then, there are those who are willing to just let things happen. And last, but unfortunately not least, are those who simply ask, “What happened?!”

Wherever you find yourself now, I’m sure you’ll agree the first group, the one in which people make good things happen is the best!
