The John Tesh Story

A friend of mine was driving down an interstate highway recently when he realized he had passed his exit about five miles back. And the next place where he could turn around was fifteen miles ahead! He had to travel another thirty-five miles just to get back to where he should have been in the first place!

When I heard his story, I began thinking about how many times young people in school do that very same thing by not applying themselves. You see, in order to be successful in the real world, you need to possess some knowledge along with an academic foundation on which to build future knowledge.

Just like going several miles out of your way on the interstate, you could be setting yourself up to go several years out of your way on life’s highway before you finally reach the place you’ll want to be as an independent adult.

I can tell you that attention and diligence now will save you a lot of time and frustration in the future.
