The Abraham Lincoln Story

Leadership can be defined as the ability to influence others toward a desired goal— a characteristic not commonly exercised. Robert E. Lee developed this special power of influence. Once, when the great general unexpectedly visited a battalion of his soldiers there was a deafening quietness, and no one said a thing.

Immediately following, one of the men passionately asked the others if they were willing to do what the general had said. But General Lee had actually not spoken a word. Just his presence brought devotion. It was the power of his character that commanded respect from the men.

People who have proven themselves capable and who have won the hearts of their followers can lead a group where others only dream of going.

Prepare yourself. Make yourself respectable and capable. You’ll be amazed at how effective your leadership can be!
