The Beginning of a FAMOUS Hero™ is a series of stories that works in conjunction with the The Beginning of a Hero™ series as a pro-active bully prevention program for elementary school students through 6th grade.
These two sets of stories work together to offer an academic language which says, “HELPING is the opposite of hurting, and people who HELP others are called HEROES.”
Hundreds of elementary schools are currently playing these stories on the school intercom twice a week during morning announcements as a part of their character education and pro-active bully prevention efforts. In each segment, a famous HERO is spotlighted. Each story tells, of course, what he or she did to become that hero, but then it also tells how, as a child, this person (through hardship, hard work, education, opportunity, etc.) put himself or herself on a path to become that hero. These stories are about people who already faced the challenges of childhood and actually grew to become what The Beginning of a Hero™ stories suggest.
