The Abraham Lincoln Story
The attitude among many young people over the years has been that of “live for today.” The past was for old people to worry about, and the future they pictured was some kind of nebulous idea that robots would do all our work for us!
It would have been much better instead, to have learned life’s lessons from those who went before us.
You see, the past is not just for old people who tell boring stories. The past contains lessons of human mistakes and successes. It holds principles that we can learn from and then build on. But it seems that each generation chooses to blunder through already charted territory without a map!
And what about the future? Well, the future will be what we choose to make it. The seeds we sow today make the crops we reap tomorrow. So, it only makes sense to learn from the past, enjoy the present, and prepare for the future.
