The Delilah Rene Luke Story
The story goes that an ancient prophet was about to sail from his own country to travel abroad. As citizens were gathered to say goodbye, some asked for parting words of wisdom on varying subjects. One man called up from the crowd asking the prophet to speak on the subject of work.
What would you expect a wise man to say about work? That it’s a requirement of life if you want to eat? Well, that may be true, but the answer given in this story was different for he said, “Work is love made visible.”
Maybe you’re not directly responsible for a family yet, and maybe you haven’t even met the person you will someday marry. What about the children you’ll have? You know, the quality of their lives will greatly depend on you. So, love them enough even now to work hard at preparing for your career by taking education seriously and by developing a positive work ethic. Yes, the old prophet was right, you know… work really is love made visible.
