The Martin Luther King, Jr. Story
When you look into a mirror, you see a reflection of your physical self. When you look at the grade on a test paper, you see a reflection of your academic self. When you look at your weekend calendar, you see a reflection of your social self. Do you like what you see? If not, change it!
One of my best friends in high school was about as underweight as they come, and I tended to be a little on the heavy side. Neither of us liked what we saw in the mirror. The next thing I knew, he had begun a body building program, and within a year or so, he could bench-press . . . me!
I learned quickly and got myself on a program to get in shape as well. Then one thing led to another. I didn’t like my grades, so I did what was necessary to change them. It works that way in life. If you don’t like something about yourself, you can usually change it if you really determine yourself to do so.
