The Dr. Seuss Story
One of my favorite literary pieces was written by Ted Giesel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss. It’s called “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”
In a rather abstract way, it portrays opportunities awaiting young people, and in his own inimitable style, he pretty much sums up what may be expected—that is, for those who are focused on a successful future.
The picture he paints is full of successes and failures even for the person who is goal oriented. What he does not mention is the outcome for those who do not try—those who focus only on day-to-day pleasures and pains.
So, if you’re ever to make it through where “your enemies prowl,” and go on and on “though the Hakken-Kraks howl,” and if you want to really, really succeed, “ninety-eight and three quarters percent guaranteed,” you’ve got to be trying in the first place!
