The Barbara Jordan Story
Why does one person look at something one way when another person sees it completely differently—even though both possess the same information about the matter? Both are convinced each other is wrong. Why? Well, often it is simply attitude. Attitudes can be formed by many different things like environment, tradition, peer pressure, and personality traits. But attitudes can also change— sometimes with the passing of time, and sometimes because we gain the wisdom to visualize the consequences that our attitudes would produce.
As years go by, it becomes much easier to see the results of past attitudes and understand why changes early on would have been better choices.
So, take some time to think about what your attitude is toward—well, any number of things. Be honest with yourself, and have the courage to admit that certain changes in attitude may be needed. Small adjustments in attitude now can make a world of difference later on.
