The Richard Branson Story
If you were to suddenly find yourself in a hospital emergency room, you would expect your doctor to be an expert in the field of medicine, wouldn’t you? Of course you would—your expectation would be so high that you probably wouldn’t question his or her medical procedures at all.
But think how refreshing it would be to have the same confidence in the checker at the supermarket, the crew member at the fast food restaurant, or the babysitter.
Of course, on the other side of the coin, we all want to become experts in our future careers, don’t we? But what about those part-time jobs and other responsibilities along the way?
One thing I’ve learned is this—if you want to be happy, have fulfillment, and be respected, you need to take it on yourself to learn all there is to know about your job—become an expert! Don’t ever be a know-it-all, but do be a true expert. It’ll take you far!
