The John Schneider Story
I was asked recently what I would most like to teach the world, and my answer was, on the surface, pretty simple. I wish I could teach the world to live by the golden rule—”Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” For everyone to truly live by this important principal, however, it would require the acceptance of responsibility on the parts of all people.
In the world today, we hear a lot about people’s rights, and certainly the rights of individuals are very important. But without taking responsibility for our actions and taking responsibility to see that we as individuals do nothing to violate the rights of others, nobody’s rights will ever truly be realized.
Taking responsibility to “carry our own weight,” and being willing to help someone less fortunate carry theirs would bring a peace to this world that people only dream about.
